In an effort to improve my back-up system (I currently do it to two DVD's held at seperate locations) I have decided to also back up to an external hard drive. They are so inexpensive these days it seems mad not too. I paid £120 for my 300gb one which will last around a year. I simply then buy another and stack it on top!

Made for a mac of course it is very stylish (there are 3 shown here and I have the blue one). The good news is though for all you PC people out there it also works with windows! Go on - get one and be trendy :-)

OOO I like that idea - Im looking for a second external hard drive.

Bit worried though - I might come home and find the kids playing with them in the garden !!!!!

320 gig for £99.99! Medion from Aldi excelent value. Medion, for those who don't know the name, is one of the markert leaders in Germany. I've used several of their products all excelent quality and value for money. You pay for what it does not what it looks like, tho' it has to be said this drives not that bad looking.

Yes - I believe medion to be a good brand but it is PC only I believe. I figured that in a design enviroment the Lacie "brick" looks rather stylish next to my wide screen Mac!

Yup PC only 'cos MAC's ain't that popular in Germany, or France or Italy or Spain or Portugal ......

Did one of those EC funded IT courses at Central Uni 5/6 years back and the guys from across the channel could not understand why it was written round MACs. now beats hasty retreat:exit::exit:

Ah - that is because those Countries are insular (or European) and we are worldly! :-)

I have to say all my couples comment on the Mac when they come for their viewing - and it does the job perfectly as well!
