Could anyone please advise me which camera could I get for a complete beginner. It should be rather fast, so it would be good for getting children and animal photos (they move fast!), should be able to make high resolution photos, and, possibly, raw format. And should be ableto expand its possibilities, in case I would get into photography little bit more (as a hobby only, I prefer Photoshop).
I know it might be a shame to say such thing on this Forum, but normally I would get on well with a cheap home camera, it's just most of the photos comes horribly blurred and out of focus.

Any entry level Dslr kit would do to start with, you can upgrade the lenses at your convenience.

Boy, you're quick to accept! Yeah, Chaz is right. Entry level DSLR would be the best choice, but so many other options come to mind, considering how you really feel about where you are going.
BTW, welcome to the forum.

I think entry DSLR too. They're all good, hard to go wrong with any of them, though I would lean toward CANON or nikon, as the range of lenses etc is better.

Hi Xenon and welcome to the forum.
As the others have said an Entry-Level DSLR kit would be a good buy. As Steve(Tenchy) mentioned it would be better to look at Canon or Nikon. I can't give any suggestions with regards to Canon but I would suggest you look at the Nikon D3000. It's an Entry-Level model that is aimed at the complete beginner as it includes an easy to use Guide Mode that helps you select the correct settings.

For ease of use I would recommend Panasonic Lumix TZ7. It's a compact not a DSLR so it's cheaper and easier to use. The drawback is you can't upgrade with this as you can with a DSLR.
I have a DSLR but I also have the older Lumix TZ3 version and I think it's a great camera.

I am starting on a sony a200, and have been for a year now. It is a lovely camera, and probably quite cheap as the new versions have come out, which are apparently very easy to use. The lenses are often cheaper than nikon or canon, but the range is quite limited. Also, accessories are quite limited with only a few flashes etc for sony.
