After carefully wading through all the discussion areas and short listing 24 images I eventually decided on the one I felt should be the Image Of The Week.

There are many excellent images in all sections and many in the landscape section not surprising with the seasonal weather, a few of the images posted on the site that stick in my mind are Karl-tkd Malham Sunset, Alphatest Vulture, stevezz1 Filament Glow, and Chaz's Split tone.

There are many others and well worth having a look through the various sections.

So it is my pleasure to say that my choice this week is Crazy Mixed up Kid by hUUjUU a piece that took time and thought to achieve in the setting up of the shot through to the post processing and the final image.

Congratulations to you Ian and very well done .

HI Paul

I see you take the IOTW as seriously as I did when it was my turn to choose. People dont realise how damned hard it is to pick a best photo when you have so much good stuff to choose.I too normally shortlist my faves and then sit down and contemplate which one I finally will chose.

If it had been my choice this week I think I would have gone for Ian's. theres a quality of the image thats hard to define but it just works! fab stuff mate and well done for winning.

Thanks very much everyone. There are so many fantastic images on here that it really means a lot to get your vote and it's almost exactly a year since i started in photography and got my first camera so its a great birthday present (and helps justify my first DSLR that i ordered a couple of days ago):)

tenchy - Samsung GX10, with 18-55 and 70-300 and i think it's going to be a whole new learning curve (will still be using my panasonic lumix FZ8 though as it's been a brilliant little camera)

Didn't know Samsung did DSLRs. Looks like it may take Pentax lenses then.

Yeah, apparently the pentax and samsung range are pretty much the same and all the lenses are interchangeable (apologies to pro's on here if this is wrong or my wording is'nt right !). After a long search and messing with entry level Nikons, Canons, sonys, and so forth, i narrowed it down to GX10/20/KM or pentax k10/20. The GX10 is what cropped up.
