hey guys i have been playing with some off camera flash (thanks to tenchy for the linky about the cheepo radio triggers) and i'm finding the light very harsh even with the plastic difusers you wedge on to the flash gun. so i'm making my own DIY soft box's two large and one half the dize at 8" i have card boards lined with foil and a 5" square of MDF underneeth to mount the flash guns on i am now strugling to find a material that will difuse the light enough to alow it the become a 'soft box'
any sugestions?

I remembered that a while back there was a couple of threads on this, so just had a dig round to see if I could find them and here they are:

Great tutorials :) The second one worked much better and was a lot easier, and is still used today.
If you think about it, to make a softbox all you are looking to do is make something that holds a big sheet of diffusing material infront of the flash, let your imagination sort out the rest.

Yeah that's another reason the second one is better, looks slightly less home made!
