22Mp apparently..................
Who's in the queue. Not me! Unless those 6 nubers come up, then again it might be a "blad".

All I can see on that page about a canon mf camera is a headline and a question. The rest of it is talking about current mf brands. I would be surprised to see a medium format platform from canon because it's a completely different technology using different sensors, different processing engines, different lenses and different body designs and features. The other mf brands have had years to develop this stuff which is why it is now at the more affordable price of around £10,000 for an entry level system and some as low as £5000 for back only. Back in the day when this stuff was new, entry level was around £30,000 and for canon to develop a platform to the point of release from scratch would put their products well above the price that any of the other brands are charging. And 22mp on a medium format sensor aint going to cut the mustard with any of todays working pro's. Phase one do still sell 16mp and 22mp backs but the standard is around 30mp with backs going up to 60mp.

I knew that the hasselblads were up to 60mp. But the infererence of the article seemed to me that Canon were looking at MF with entry level cams at 22mp.
Probably just me then.....................................

I don't see how they can with the lens mount they have, it's too small. Dev costs to produce a new lens mount would be huge. I just don't see it happening at the moment.

I don't know mate. As I said, the inferrence in the article is that was what they seemed to be planning.

A friend of mine who is allegedly 'in the know' and has been a reliable source of a fair few Canon releases says that the company are currently developing a 50Mp sensor for a SLR style body that will use EF mount lenses and will be marketed as an alternative to medium format...
