Hi all

I want to get a few greetings cards printed with my photos on - just basically blank with no text on front - just photo. I looked on snapfish and photobox and the like but what I really want is to able to put in small type on the back some basic details (ie where photo was taken/title, my name etc)

The ones I have seen come with their website name printed all over the back or similar which I dont really want and you also dont get the option of putting wording on the back.

So, just wondering if anyone knows an online company where I would be able to get some done?

TIA
Hannah

Can you not mke your own with a printer.

well I would but I want quite a few doing and my printer just takes far too much ink so would end up costing loads more (3 of the inks have already run out after hardly any printing)

I guess you could get them printed as a photo that was half white and fold them in half ? :)

Tenchy's idea is the best, so far, unless you do print them yourself... Or you could go an visit your local printers and talk through the requirements with them.

then to get the crease in use the back of a table knife or a pizza cutter and a rule and crease on the bend that's all they do.

And the print wants to be slightly bigger than half way so when its folded you don't get a white stripe down one side

But then the only thing if I did that, how would I get the writing on the back? I actually make handmade cards as a bit of extra money and use printed labels to go on the back but I dont really want to do this with the photo cards as I want it printed directly on the back.

Sean - thanks, will go see a nearby printers who I expect would do them - hadn't thought of trying them.

Use photoshop or the gimp or any art package

layout the front picture keep the left blank and set the text on the back as you want it you can get photo print its the cheapest for small runs if you want txt inside use a separate inner sheet slightly smaller than the card glued in along the fold.

see below I have kept a plane front as you wanted :)

its also a cheap way to get business cards in full colour all you need is a rotary paper cutter to cut them down to size about 10 to 20 pound.

Ashtons do 200 6" x 4" prints for £16

Invest in a continuous ink system for your printer ( CIS ) from ebay, mine was about £25 and lasts forever.

You need moo.com (http://uk.moo.com/en/) - one of the best online digital printers... they're cheap, fantastic quality and you can have a series of different images on the cards!
