According to BBC Breakfast Wolverhampton has been voted the most under-rated city in the country, what's all this yam yam business? ;)

Hi England1965, welcome from a South Staffs lad.
I always thought W'ton was in the West Midlands. http://www.wedding-photography.org/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

our wheelie bins say South Staffordshire District Council but our Postcode is Wolverhampton
I spent the last 27 years in Norfolk so I'll go with what my wife says (it's quieter that way :p )

Beats me ... I've been here 3 months and I've understood about 5 words so far.
There's a gag about "what time is it when there's a Pasty on the town hall clock?" .... "summat to ate"
Nah ...I didn't get it either :)

Visited Wolverhampton a couple of times with my beloved Bowton Wanderers... originally from Bowton but now in Lincoln, probably off to Cambridge soon which is nearer to Norfolk. Have a few photography pals in Norfolk... Brian Barret (brilliant wedding guy) and Nigel Holmes (takes tasteful dirty piccies), do you know them?
How many wheely bins do you have? We currently have three... waste, cardboard and glass!

I have heard of Mr Barrett (Barrett and Coes?) but not the other chap.
Cambridge is very nice - I lived about 10 miles south (Village called Melbourn) from 1971-1976. I used to head down occasionally from King's Lynn as it always had a nice vibe about the place. Especially around the colleges and along the river.
We just have 2 bins - normal and green - but they have a seperate collection for paper and recyclables

Mrs Arca is from a village near to Huntingdon and has recently got invoved in a successful jewellery business with her sister in Cambridge.
I could get so much more photography work (at higher rates too) if we lived nearer to London... it is where it all happens at the end of the day and clients and my "agent" forget about me as I am up in Lincoln.
I too like the vibe of Cambridge, but not the property prices.
What do you shoot?
Oh yes... Brian is Barret & Coe... great bloke. Nigel lives out on the coast has a web site called Girlfiles and is another good lad.

Ah that explains it I think, the city is in WMMB but a lot of the villages in SSCC say they are in Wolverhampton as people know where that is.
Local boundries can get confusing, I'm in Cannock Chase DC in Staffordshire with a Lichfield phone no yet a friend less than a 1/4 mile away is in West Midlands MB with a Cannock postal address and a Lichfield phone no!
As for bins we have a green one, a brown one, a blue box and white plastic bags!!!! Need a diary to keep with the different collection dates.

You've got "good" views of the M6 Toll I suspect :(
Cheers

hi Mark,
Thank goodness the M6T is at the other end of the village, I'm within a couple of minutes of the bottom end of Chasewater.
Do you know the Vaughn Arms in Lapley just off the A5? They have a good jam session on the first Tuesday of the month.

Nope - I've been here about 3 months and am only just beginning to find my feet. Thanks for the tip though
