Does anyone know of a filter available for download that will let me achieve a 'canvas' effect on photos?

Depends what you mean by a canvas effect. Have a look thru the 'Digital art' board or there is a filter in PS CS in the layers pallet, click on the drop down menu arrow in the fourth icon from the right and go to patterns and you'll find at least two canvas effects.

Depends what you mean by a canvas effect.

I'm thinking along the lines of a watercolour canvas effect, like the effect achieved when a photo is printed onto stretched canvas.

Hi John, There is a Plugin for PS called Superblade Pro. It's available from www.flamingpear.com. There are a host of other plugins available there also. Generally they are free, full working trials for 30days. Hope this helps.
