slow here too. the reason it takes so long to load is that its a huge picture being resized while its loading. if it was that actual size it wouldn't take any time to load.

Took ages for me on a 2MB ADSL ...but when you look at the image it's a 4KB GIF ....Hmmmmm strange!

Each of the three images on the page are named tp.gif, which seems strange.
A quick glance at the source code for the page shows it is very busy. I suspect that the image is large when transmitted but then downsized by a script running on the recieving computer to make it fit the aperture.

Strange; running FireFox on a 2Mb ADSL it was quite quick. Not blinding fast but not slow enough to make you navigate away from the site.

seems a bit wierd. The image is a Gif. Only 4k
I saved the image to my comp and opened it in PS.
the image is 1pixel by 1pixel
I think it needs re-saving as a Jpeg

The image is actually called jackson3_009.jpg and its 2339x1970 resized to 270x190. THATS why its taking so long to load.

Hi all
Thanks to all who viewed my website, we have really just started the maternity thing, I love it, it is so special, not all will like it, but its coming around. Seniors is the high school and college graduates, that is very popular in the states.
I really dont know about the picture sizing thing, I shoot in digital, fine and large, and I do resize it when I post it on the website, but its the only way I know how to do it, would love for someone to tell me differently. I save all pictures in jpg, dont really know what I am doing wrong
please shed some light to this resize problem
Just added new maternity photographs from this weekend, they came out great, check it out
thanks again

what 'homestead sitebuilder' has done is taken the original picture, uploaded that and 'told' the website that it should be seen smaller. That means the full size image is there but it hasn't been resized - only appeared smaller.
You need to resize the image before you add it to the site, then 'sitebuilder' wont be able to do that.

Looks like some copyright or protection to stop people downloading the image under it...

REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR ORIGINALS!!!!!!
Don't use your originals....
try it and upload it here...
see the manage attachments button below
a normal photo when resized for the web is usually about 600 x xxx
depending on where you want to put it and what's it's for...
600 x 400 or some like mine are 600 x333

you're getting there but 800x600 is still way too big.

it needs to be height 216 width 256 (as your website has created it).

Yup... Now you need to resize those on your website to the size you want them to be as the rest of the guys says above...
the smaller the image, the smaller the file size (kb) and the faster your site will load... customers then won't get bored waiting and see your lovely pics quicker... :)
Easy when you know how...
