OK, i've read and i've looked at the so called G7. I don't like it at all. The only EXTRA options its got going for itself is the IS, 10-megpixel and a longer zoom and the nice black look.
It looks as though Canon have made the G7 look very very basic in looks. The bad news is that for us G6 ownners if we wanted to upgrade to the G7 would be a disater in terms of the EXTRA items some of us may have purchased, the lens adaptor from the G6 is no good, batteries no good, CF cards no good and to cap it all no more swivel LCD screen that is great for budding macro enthusiasts such as myself.
Canon should've kept the G6 look, maybe getting rid of the silver look is great but to keep the shape as the G6 and the G7 would probably be the best compact on the market.........a shame to see some of the more decent stuff go.......
Please check out my website, all images are from the G6, i am at the moment waiting for my Canon 350D kit to arrive but the G6 will still get used, the macro images from RAW are awsome....
P.S. just looked at some sample images from this cam in question......the fringing is awfull.......oh dear.
