Hey gang, after an excellent suggestion by Recess we're going to start class. So sit down, behave yourselves and no pinching the other students.. Unless they ask nicely..
First we're going to wait for all those interested. So if you are just post a lilltle reply here and we can get the ball rolling..
First assignment will be given on Friday afternoon, just to make sure you don't get into trouble over the weekend with too much free time!
Here's how it will work:
A topic/theme/subject will be chosen for you to go out and capture. You'll have free reign on how it looks; B&W, sepia, abstract etc.. The key here is going to be how you compose, light and present the final image..
Then when we get back to class on Monday you post your images and they'll be graded and criticised with the view of giving you all the points you need to make the shot great..
Then you go take the same shot again, taking heed of whatever crits and post again on the Thursday, where they'll get a final grade. This should help you see the development of your shot.
Then it's Friday again and a new theme to start all over.. Ooohh don't you just love being back in school!!!
I'm going to have a word with Martin about awarding the best student(s)..
So if you're interested leave your name below and check back on Friday...
Cheers
Tim

I guess it would be extremely rude of me not to add my name to the list, huh?
Sarcasm aside, LOVING the fact this is now under way - and you're '101' approach is exactly what I was thinking of when I first posted the suggestion - I just wish I'd actually written it down... now you get to take the credit... poo. :rain:
Looking forward to the first assignment (and I'm resisting SOOOO many urges to make lurid suggestions about the forum honeys in school uniforms with pleats in their hair).
Although, if that's the case, I'll give you an apple if I can sit between Bindii and Waif...*

* Have I been a member of this forum long enough to start making 'nudge nudge' comments like this? Or do I need to get my posts over 2000 before that happens...

sounds good.
but... us Northern Hemispherererers... the way I see it is like this .. take a pic at the weekend - great light this time of year - , receive a grade, retake it during the week.. erm... not sure how... you see, I work during the week, pick up kids from school, wait for wifey to arrive from London.. at that time (7pm) it's kinda dark... so are we expecting an indoor only feature, or a night-shots only feature? - or am I the only one with this predicament? :rain:
... is it a pre and post photoshop thang?

Perhaps it could be done over a month. Say weekend 1 shoot the image and upload. The next weekend go out and shoot after comments have been made. Re upload and see if there are any further comments. As some people are busy this may help.

*hand waving in the air*
Sir Sir is there different year levels, I think I'll feel a bit intimidated by the bigger kids and that Georgie bloke is a bit of a bully.
Can I start in year 1 and work my way up? (you still get to have afternoon naps in year 1).
Just thinking I already work in a school so that will mean I'll be in school 7 days a week. Do we get school holidays???
I'll get my mum to iron my uniform for me

Right then class.. Looks like there are some trouble makers here!!! I'll have to keep an eye on them..
I think we'll do it on a fortnightly basis (to help out all the hard working students).. And to make sure I have enough time to personally attend to the young ladies!!
So, I'll post a topic tomorrow and you'll all have a fortnight to get the 2 shots in by. So you can take one this weekend and the touched up (behave!) version the following weekend.. If you get them in sooner, no worries..
Sound ok to everyone??
Oh and of course uniform is compulsory for all the women...
Gentlemen, hands to yourself...
Stu, stop pulling on Bindii's pigtails..
And John, put Marty down...
Oh this is gonna be tough!!
