My wife has tried to clean my flat panel LCD monitor with wet wipes meant for CRT monitors. The result is a lot of smears accross my monitor. What would be the best way from here to restore the screen to clean as new and smear free?

I have tried a variety of things on my laptop screen - many of which are useless.
Depending on how bad the smears are, you could try a clean lens cloth - that usually works for me.
If they are reall dried on though, maybe another quick wipe with the wet-wipe and then lens cloth immediately afterwards.
Works for me.

Lol...I did the same thing...and dont panic it can be fixed easily enough...
you can buy a screen clean from the computer shop..its a spray and it will sort it for you...mind you its not cheap...I think I paid about $20 for a small tin of it...but its lasted me for over a year now so its worth it.

A microfibre cloth, just damp shuld do it, but don't apply too much pressure to the screen. Also PC World sell a tub of screen cleaning sheets that do work.

My granddaughter Decided to draw on my daughters lcd screen with felt tip. My daughter used a cloth dampend with vodka to clean it. It worked, but do test a corner of your screen first.:)
