My personal websites are too dis-organised to show at the moment, but I would like to plug the sites I have built for my local camera club.

www.ekcameraclub.freeserve.co.uk
and
www.ekcc.fsnet.co.uk

The first is mainly informational, while the second is a gellery of member's images.

Constructive comments welcome.

Dennis

Ill tell you what Dennis its a high standard at your club!

Some of the images there are fantastic.

I went to the website to comment on the layout and spent haf an hour browsing through the pictures.

Get them on this forum. They must have soooo much to offer.

As for the website it must be ok as I navigated around it all without any problems and this is the most important consideration. It showcases each photographer well and the way it shows the images is ok.

I will go back later and have a good look and see if there is anything i would change. Storm7 is the man to speak to he is "Mr Website"

some stunning pictures, I especially like the one with the swans & the tree in snow. It looks almost purple!

Hi Kirsty

The pictures you mention are by a relative newcomer to the club, Paul Gaughan. I have just heard that one of his prints was awarded a commendation at the Scottish Photographic Federation Print Championships at Perth yesterday. Another of our members, Tam Service, also gained a commendation for one of his prints at the same event. I had a few prints in too....but not a mention !

They obviously must have lost the beforee the judging had started Dennis.

How do you find the competitions up there ?

I became a bit disillusioned. In the wedding and portrait sections you never knew what the judges were looking for. Sometime
I used to see the winners prints and think. WHAT??

It always seemed to be the same people winning the awards.

I never seem to have the time. I keep saying Im going to go for my next qualification with the Master Photographers Association of which I am a Licensiate member. To get the panel ready it will cost me around 300 quid and they only judge twice a year. I keep missing the deadlines. One day!

You took the words right out of my mouth, ....after I swallowed the sour grapes I had been chewing :D

East Kilbride Camera Club's new image gallery for the 2005/06 season has just got off to a good start with images from half a dozen members. More are promised in the near future.

If anyone is interested in having a look, the gallery is at
www.ekcc.fsnet.co.uk

Constructive feedback regarding images on the gallery is always appreciated.

Again some lovely stuff there Dennis. The standard of your club is fantastic.

I like the stone in the sand and the chess piece (can't remember photographers name).

The photos you mention are by Paul Gaughan. He was one of the chaps who got the "Highly commended" award at the Scottish Photographic Federation print championship a few weeks back. He only joined the club part way through last year, but immediately made an impression.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look, and even more thanks for taking the time to comment.

Yes I love that Lemur picture too. First time I saw it it just seemed such an attractive image, and so sharp.

Good judge of character, Martin. If Bradley wasn't the web manager, he wouldn't get his pictures accepted :D

Yes Kirsty. Bill really applies himself well to wildlife photography, and more recently to macro stuff.

Our club is pretty much non equipment oriented. We seem to concentrate on the image rather than what camera was used or whether it is digital or film. As a result, I have no idea what equipment Bill uses. I will ask him.

Thanks for taking the time to look at the website, and even more so for taking the time to comment.

Bill informs me he is using a Nikon SLR 2020AF. This is the American model number for the European F-501AF. The lenses used are sigma 28-200mm zoom 1:3.8-5.6 and Tamron 28-50mm manual zoom lens.
