Hello

I am Dennis, a retired Civil Servant living in Scotland.
Worked for many years in the computing and IT sectors, and took early retirement as the Research facility I worked in was being sold off.

Have been interested in photography fora long long time, getting my first camera, a Brownie 127 what else, in 1955. Progressed equipment wise, but probably not very much in expertise over the years. Joined my local camera cllub when I retired 11 years ago, and it opened up a whole new interest in photography. I run two websites for my camera club, which gives me something to do in the rainy weather. Yes, I know I should be out there taking pictures, but the area where I live is famous for its horizontal rain.

Not a people photographer....don't have the temprament for it, but I can really admire you wedding photographers out there.

My atttitude is ... if it moves, then let someone else photograph it. :D As a result, I tend to favour abstracts, landscapes etc.

Always learning something new about photography, and hopefully improving as I go along.

Dennis

Nice to hear about you Dennis. You have the attitude I like - still wanting to learn. This is why I have started this forum because no matter how long you have been doing photography there is always something to learn.

The standard of the club is amazing. No wonder you have improved so much since joining.

Just out of interest what equipment are you using?

Keep posting Dennis.

Currently using Fuji S3pro DSLR and an older S2 model for backup. That's my excuse anyway.... I just can't bring myself to part with the S2. I have a Nikon 28-50 lens and Sigma 18-35, 70-200f2.8 and 80-400 optically stabilised lens. Sigma 2x converter, Jessops extension tubes, and Nikon SB-80DX flashgun completes the load I have to lug around.

I also have a Fuji E550 digital compact which is handy for the pocket or glove compartment, and often produces images indistinguishable from those of the S2 or S3.

You probably guess I am sold on the Fuji Chip, even if they do some computer processing to fake 12Mpixel files from a 6Mpixel sensor. Whatever they do, it works for me.
