I spent Saturday night outside on the decking in a thunder storm trying to catch a picture of lighting, but only managed one!
Anyway, I was happy with just one pic to play with but so disapointed when I downloaded it and saw all those black marks on the picture. I was under cover but I guess when I zoomed out the lens was getting sprayed with the rain that was blowing in.

how do you shoot pictures in the rain?
luckily in Australia (sorry farmers) we don't have rain that often, but it would be good to know for next time

Im assuming its the rain in the sky rather than rain on the lens.

Nothing you could do i dont think.

Hi,

This only took a couple of minutes - anything more than that and I get bored. A bit too ligh in the dark area now but you can play about with it - your image to get a better result. The light part in the dark area was due to me getting a bit heavy handed with the dodge tool.
