I have just started business (10th Jan) as a wedding photographer so would appreciate any tips of any kind :)

I have done a number of weddings for friends and recomendations before but doing it full time with no day job to fall back on I have to get it right! So far In have managed to get 4 bookings which I am really pleased with.

I have spent all my cash on equipment so had to do the website entirely by myself - any comment and critisism very much appreciated.

Many thanks

David

Hi David.

First tip - if you have just started you business then stick around. I have had my business for 8 yeard and do 60+ weddings per year. I have learnt more in the last few months than I have in the last few years - all through this forum.

The problem is you get so involved with your business you forget to continue to learn new things.

Good luck with your new business.

First impressions of your website. It looks nice and "Clean" ie the layout is pleasing to the eye.

Problems I see are. The text is too small. I like the handwriting font but its too small. I had real trouble reading your prices with my laptop. The information page text is so small I stopped reading it after a couple of sentences. You always have to be careful using fancy fonts - if the computer that is viewing your website hasnt got that font then their computer will substitute it with one of its choice. Sometimes this can ruin your website. So make sure its a standard font.

The navigation changes from the home page to the rest of the website. I was told that your navigation should always be in the same place so making it as easy as possible to move around your website.

Only my initial impressions - will have a better look later - two kids crawling all over me at the moment.

Hope this helps.

And again welcome to the forum.

Like the style of your site but there is far too much text and it's too small to read in comfort. I've view it on a 15" laptop and a 21" CRT and it's too small on both.

Thanks guys - I had naturally tested it on various monitors and thought it was large enough. Clearly not though, so I have altered the size and font (I had saved them as gifs so they would appear in any browser)

Is it better now?

I think the text/font is a bit too hard to read.

Is easy to navigate your way around

Some lovely shots there too

I would try and change the font but apart from that its a great website!
