Martin recommended some DVD slideshow software he uses to create his promotional DVD's with. He sent me one of his DVD's to take a look at and I have got to say that they are pretty damn good. However, someone else recommended another program which creates the most stunning DVD slideshows that I have ever seen. It's called Photodex Proshow Producer and if you want to really have your mind blown use the following link to get to the section of the Photodex site that gives you previews of slideshows by their featured photographers. You will have to download the ActiveX thing first to be interactive. Once you have done that make sure that the first one that you watch is Mark Ridout's. Once you get the start screen click on his name and away you go. The first section is landscapes and buildings but then it goes on to weddings. Just let it run and you will be amazed. I know that I am going on a bit but this Mark Ridout is an absolute genius. Here's the link: http://www.photodex.com/sharing/spotlight/featured

I must say absoulutley stunning.
I tested this software and it was superb at some things but fell down on others.
Cant remember what it wouldnt do - numbering pictures ? Designing your own front page ?
Dunno cant remember.
Super show though.

Martin - wasn't it Proshow Gold that you tested? Proshow Gold is about £100 where the Producer software is about £400.

I use Proshow Gold for my work. It gives great results in the quality of the photo once coverted to the DVD show unlike other show software out there. You are right, one thing it doesnt do is renumber the images, i use another application for that. But i cant recomend the Gold enough. It doesn't seem woth spending alot more on the pro product when this one does all i need.
All the best

I agree , I have been using Pro Show Gold for over two years & had a look at the new version but did not think it worth the £300.00 extra, but if I was about to buy for the first time I would go fo the newer version, but the quality of the end show from any Pro Show is outstanding

Will it show the file name on the TV. I agree it looks good for my promotional DVD but will it be OK for previewing the weddings. It will need to show the file name in the corner for the B&G to choose the pictures.

Yes it does. If you opent the Show Options window and in the captions box type \f
That will place the file name on each slide. Then you can drag it around the slide to the position you want it to appear.

I've just started looking for slideshow production software so please bear with me if the questions seem daft and/or basic as they are probably both :nut:
If I want to create a slideshow for display on both conventional and widescreen TV will the software handle that aspect (pardon the pun) or will seperate versions have to be created.
If seperate versions, will they work with the same images or will the images also have to be in different formats?

Hi guys, I should say, DVD SlideShow Builder (http://www.photo-to-dvd.com/dvd-slideshow-builder.html) is also a good choice!
The transition effects and multiple menu templates attract me most at the first sight.
And of course, it creates excellent DVD SlideShows. Enjoy!
