View Full Version : Scottish meet?

There seems to be a lot of talk over meets but not a lot of action, so how about a Scottish meet some time in the New Year? I appreciate that Barry has his weddings and George works shift, but I'm sure we can find a date that suits everyone (hopefully it will suit the weather too). My only request is that it's somewhere easily accessable by train, since I've still not gotten around to having driving lessons yet.
Well anyways, anyone up for it?

Hi,
No probs. How many do we have? City centre should be fine but not sure where Barry lives exactly.

As of right now, we have a whole 2. lol I'll PM the other Scots that I know of on here and see if they're up for it.
Barry lives in Burntisland, which is Fife I think, if my geography aint too terrible.

Hi,
I was posted to Edinburgh for a few years so know the city well. Centre tends to be busier than Glasgow but the Zoo is reasonably quiet area and we can move on from there?
Your thoughts on this and a day spent in the capital?
blindabyss
17th December 2006, 08:33 PM
Yeah, I'm up for Edinburgh. Will be good to visit the zoo again. All we have in Glasgow is a rather healthy population of wild terrapins.
I'm not really clued up on the capital, so I'll leave it up to you better informed lot. lol

The zoo is a little distant from centre if your arrving by train but not a problem, city centre is really good for the obvious, castle, calton hill, arthurs seat, princess street gardens, lights are amazing, plent of statues and monuments, and Starbucks coffee shops, mmmmm.

As said mate, I'm retarded when it comes to navigating Edinburgh, so whatever you guys decide is more than fine by me. I've only ever really done Murrayfield and the zoo. But yeah, I agree Starbucks is a must! lol

Well considering we are dong a national meet, it's kinda embarrasing only having 3 people up for it. :getmecoat:
So have you guys given anymore thought to a date and venues? I'm not working so am happy to work the dates around you 2.

Hi,
Now working through Xmas until the following Friday so meeting in Edinburgh on 30/31st would be a nightmare. How about early January? Will have to check my shifts but Tuesday the 9th sounds good.
Any advance on that?

Hi All,
Still up for a meet if you can pick a date. As a shift worker that can be tricky at times but how about Thur 15th Feb?
BarryM
6th February 2007, 09:15 PM
that week is no good to me mate, recovering from martin being here, and got portrait shoots that day.
Had a thought though, i beleive photovision or something is coming to murryfield soonish (march rings a bell), that would give plenty of time to organise meeting up at it.
ok found the info 20th March http://www.forwardevents.co.uk/photovision/edinburgh.php
Howz about that for a meet up, im deffo going, was going to drag my wife along, but if ur all up for it i can leave her at home NICEEEE :partydance:

Bloody disgrace what they're doing to the history of these Regiments. Now becoming super regiments with new titles. Whilst I have witnessed disbandments/emalgamations before I feel they have ripped the spirit outta it all. Neither wonder the british army is so now under manned and over stretched, Joining a Regiment was a family tradition....Its all gone balls up!
Bloody polititians!
