Avatar conundrum

For the love of god how do I get an avatar!!!! :confused:
No matter how tiny I make my pic in CS it won't go any smaller than 21K, then it appears as 40ishK wherever I save it.. What the sweet monkey-spit am I doing wrong!!! :D :D here's one I sized at 64 x 64px..

You still had the image at 300dpi. Dont know if this changes the file size if you have specified the pixels.

Anyway here is what I did.

Reduced to 72dpi and 80 by 80 pixels.

Big difference it to save as a Gif image.

Saved as Gif. File size now about 8k.

Posted here for you. I will also add it as your Avtar.
