Hi Martin
I hope you can read this at some point, as I can't find your e-mail address.
You mentioned that you bought your memory cards from the internet, I know you can order the cards for the eos cameras, but do they also sell the memory sticks for sony compact cameras. It's just that my sister was looking for the card for her camera when she goes to Las Vegas and so far the lowest price is £99.99 for a 1GB, which seems a little steep.
If you could let me know if they do sell any on the web site that you use, if you have time. she would be very grateful. Thank you.
Sue

Hi Sue
Obviously another busy day at the office http://www.wedding-photography.org/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
If you follow the link below or copy and paste it into your browser it will take you to all the memory sticks for sale on ebay.
There are a few general rules I go by. Make sure they are a reputable seller. Look at their feedback some people have sold thousands and thousands of items - stick to these sellers. Look at the postage cost - some cards may look cheap but when you add the postage on its not true.
I buy my cards from the US and they take around 1 week to arrive.
Hope this helps sue.
By the wat the pics were great from weekend. I am slowly getting up to date now. Remember to send the email we talked about.

Hi Sue
Perhaps I can be of help with the 1 GB flash card. I bought 5 of these cards a few weeks ago from a company called Picstop who are based in the UK. They sell all the top brands, but I prefer Sandisk (as they invented the CF card).
I believe you have an EOS camera, so the card to go for is the standard Sandisckcard with Blue and red livery. I have one Sandisk Extreme III and a standard Sandisk and both empty a complete 1 GB card into my computer in under 2 mins. In terms of the way the standard card performs in the camera, it can soak up a 15 GB RAW file in under 8 seconds and the Extreme III is only a tiny bit faster. The camera I am using these cards in is the new 13 mega pixel EOS 5D, so if it is good enough for that, it is good enough for any EOS.
OK, here's the point of all this; you can buy the standard 1 GB Sandisk card for £45 from Picstop. I have now used them for various things and I have found them to be safe and reliable. You don't need to spend over £90 on a card and you certainly don't need to buy it from the States.
Here is a link to the Picstop page that has the relevant cards on it.

Incidentally, I tried a Kingston card from another supplier and it was such rubbish that I sent it back. In particular, it could not cope with the size of the EOS 5D files and flicking between photos on the camera was agonisingly slow, even though the card said it was a super fast ?pro? model. Both the Extreme III and standard 1 GB Sandisk cards are lightening fast, but it is not worth spending an extra £40 pounds for the Extreme III. It is a good card, but not different enough to justify the extra cost.
Incidentally, I am a professional wedding photographer, which is why I am shooting in RAW and using so many CF cards.
Hope this helps
Michael
