Martin,
I also now own www.photographyworld.co.uk (bought it a couple of months ago) and received your email inviting photographers, as a favour to you, I have posted your notice on the home page, so hope this will drive some traffic to your site. I must admit that this is a very nice message system and wish you all the very best with it. Of course it will only stay up for a few days, so suggest you post it on the message board as well, as the link will help your google standing also. :)
Any photographers looking for models or want to profile their work online, its free and we get 750,000 visits to the site per year! :eek:

I always like a challenge, yes Alexia stats are correct, but pages must be optimised and tuned for Alexia results, code planted on pages to get acurate results. We now also have a live Rss feed which has created an increase of over 26% this month.
Here is the untouched Urchin results panel

George,
Not sure what the problem is here, I simply made a link for this forum on my site as a favour to the owners and users as Martin is trying to drum up more interest for his forum.
In fact if you think about it, it is of no benefit to me at all, quite the opposite, driving my traffic to another forum.
A thanks might have been in order.

No problem at all matey...
I'm just natually sus (it's the police man in me, you never get rid of it), but thanks for the stats...
It's very interesting how the whole thing is measured...
I'm at the moment on my site VERy much lower than anyone,
but my GB if about 6 to 8 a month... Due to the amount
of photos on my site...
It would be interesting to know any tricks or tips you have
for search engines and stats.....
:)

Re your stats and popularity with the search engines:
This is not a simple answer and can be hard to digest, but in short the following:
Your 3 sites are very very nice, but have a google ranking of zero!!
In order to attract the robots and increase your standing with them, they look for changed content and specific bits of data, such Meta tags to name just one.
If you are unsure what these are, go to your home page and right click with your mouse, you will see the option View Source
This will show the following for your stage site:
<HTML>
<TITLE>www.StagePhotography.co.uk - George Riddell</TITLE>
<SCRIPT Language="JavaScript">
<!--
function loadpage(){
var psj=0;
newwin = window.open(document.frm.pswd.value + "/index.shtml")
//window.location.href=document.frm.pswd.value + "/index.shtml"
}
This shows no meta tags, the title shows your web address, the robot already knows this!! use something different.
Meta tags should relate to text on your homepage and content, using good keywords that people search by.
I can help you some more if you need the guidance! or give you the tools that are free to do it properly.
Even if you change them today, they may not help for some months, so hang in there. If a company says we will put you at the top, they are LYING, there is no short track to this, just plain hard work I am afraid.
The other most important thing is to get links to your site from other sources, website addresses on message boards, directories etc. etc.
Hence my comment to Martin, that linking to my www.photographyworld.co.uk site will help his standing, as I am rated 4 with google. If you want some free proper adverts, I am happy to put them on my other sites such as www.search4ipswich.com also Braintree, Colchester, Burystedmunds and so on. If you write a small article on stage photography and am dram, I can put those articles up on the sites to get even more exposure. FREE
Can't be fairer than that.
Even with your policemans hat on, it can't be bad :)
