Studio Work - Instant Results..... Use a TV...
I was downstairs tonight cleaning my stuff
and taking a few piccys of things in general...
When I pluged in my AV out line to the
TV and pressed the shutter....
Wow.. I thought.. The image previewed
on the TV as well as the back of the camera..
Then I got to thinking...
Your models and portrait shots could see themselves
or you could use this as a monitor to check focus
and that (esp for bindii that one) as you take the photos..!!!
Cheap..
Cheerful.....
And very handy...
Not sure if other Digital Cameras do that, but my S3 Pro
as a AV out which does... Very handy and I'm certainly
going to use this when I get a studio...
Yes I know, portrait shots would need turning,
but they might not depending if your camera
can handle the "Auto Rotate" in the AV feed as well..

yes I do this at lots of School doos. I connect the camera to a projector and throw it on a wall - it looks really good and the kids love it.

Yes... My S3 Pro has software called Hyperutility
which you can control the camera from the PC/Laptop,
even take the snap the photograph using it.
This also loads the image to the Pc/Laptop as well
as onto the camera so quicker than having to
download the card too...
It uses a firewire cable but you don't often get
them long enough to roam around the studio,
but you can get cables for the AV feed that long,
the added bonus also is that the AV cables are
a lot cheaper than a 10 Meter Firewire cable...
And less likely to fall out...

They sell 10m firewire for just over 40 quid..

and there for 25.... Great if you've got a studio....

There are adaptors out there for that...
Martin I think has one...
also...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-EOS-1Ds-Mark-Microdrive/dp/B0006GBHRS
"Compatibility with over 50 EF Lenses, in addition to the entire line of EOS accessories, including the new Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E1 accessory easily makes the EOS-1Ds Mark II the most remarkable combination of resolution and speed in the history of digital SLRs. "
There is wireless stuff out there...

I have my 20D connected via usb to my laptop when doing studio shots. Helps no end when sorting out the lighting angle / posing etc. So much better than that piddly view finder... :)

Ahh so you can see target through the link????
I'm not sure mine does that.... Can only
see it when it clicks and downloads the image...

A dSLR, apart from the new Oly and Panasonic/Leica, will only show the image on a laptop after you've taken it. One reason I kept the Leica D2 you can preview on a laptop.

Yup.... My S3 only shows the image once taken in preview mode...
To the PC and the AV feed....
Bum...
It's got something like a "webcam" thing called "Live Image" but it's pants.... not sure what that is and doens't look interesting...
