skype problems

Anyone into skype 'cos I'm having probs setting mine up. specifically I can hear incoming speech but my mic does not transmit using either of the two available sockets. I've gone thru all the skype help set up to no avail. At first thought it may be the headset mic so put the incoming sound onto the speakers and got a stand alone mic.. no difference.
It did work on Thursday I think it was so was able to chat to the suthern belle a couple of times but before then and after nowt!!!!

So just to clarify, you did have it working for a short time but now - nada.
One possibility is simply dirty contact between the jack and the socket. Another is that an app has changed the microphone settings.

Could well be, sorry for the delay in replying. I got another mic rather than the combined headset one. This seems to work on the skype test if it's close to my mouth.

Thanks for the replies, now sorted. I think it must have been a dirty jack.
