You're sooooo right :-)

Sure it's good. At a cost of £4000 (guess even tho' is says $) is it 4 time better? No.

Move away from FF. Reduction to 10mp. Interesting.

Having just read the full specs (there's a 64 page white paper available - sorry lost the link), I have to say this thing is jaw dropping. Come on Nikon close the gap with a D3X and I'll buy one :-)

OK Chris where does this better your D200?:grin:The 3" LCD and over three times the current D200 price is about it. Your D200 will not start taking worse pictures just 'cos Canon have caught up. :snap1::snap1:

Bodes well for the 1Ds MkIII, with tiny d.o.f. with f/f and my big lenses, the new feature of fine adjustment to the focus point, backwards and forwards, is a really nice touch... and Canon's lens calibration suite will be a quieter place.

I know I know :-)

I'm also a Clay Pigeon Shooter - there is a similar light hearted battle between Browning and Beretta users. I'm a Browning person, but would love a Beretta DT10 (interestingly same prices as a D200 and 1D respectively). 999/1000 the DT10 is not going to make me a better shot. If you point any gun in the right direction it will do the trick.

The 1 series are MUCH nicer body-wise (unlike myself) than the 30D/5D - the feel ten times more substantial - I just know I am not going to break it. I always feel that the 5D and 30D are a little "fragile". I doubt it's worth £4k - but I wont tell you how much I paid for my 1DS Mk1 (ouch!)

Still a beautiful camera once you get the dust out of the damn thing :snap1:

Cheers

I think that is one mega camera. I hope my mk11 will not stop working when the new one comes out. I have only had it a few weeks. The only reason I was able to get my hands on one was I guess because of the price drop. Then again I should be safe as my 20d seemed to work ok when the 30d came out.

Looks a great camera - still doesn't guarantee the person using it will be able to take decent photos though

It's more about the photographer than the equipment in my eyes

It is the ability to shoot in lower and lower light, better and more accurate auto focus, better exposure and to cap it off - cleaner.

I think I will be waiting for the next full frame, 30MP dual processor and dual sensor array to merge pictures for the correct exposure at point of capture.

Sounds good to me, 128 ISO and a low of 25 ISO, noise reduction system to totally eliminate noise at any speed. Eye focus exposure and auto DOF with eye start/movement.

Now where is the drawing board - not that far away though!

Well even as a Nikonian...I think this is a VERY cool camera... You guys have every right to drool. Hope Nikon take note and get their fingers out.. LoL

The only down side is the Sheer £££££££s.... WoW My CAR cost less! Guess at this end of the market whether it were Canon or Nikon...at my level of skill...I'll never get my hands on one

Cant help but think they'd have made more money puttin some of these features into their high amateur/entry pro systems instead of the top of the line model. Guess its coming though......

Come on now Nikon...Canon have done some great stuff here...time to do the same...

Takes one last look, and considers selling one of the children....

Is this eye thing your talking about the same feature on the eos3, ive been playing around with it of late, love the idea but not sure of its useability, maybe cos im used to digital, im stuck with the focus halfpress shutter then recompose of a digital and still do that when using the eos3.
