I'd be interested to see what can be done with this. I've been playing with it for over a week but can't come up with anything I like.

I've deliberately left it a bit bigger so you can crop if you so wish. :)

Love how rich you've taken the colours, I tried but couldn't get them anywhere near that good...which is why I bleached them. Oh and sorry about the sky, kinda cocked it up when shooting. lol

From what I can remember...

It was quite a few CLARIFYs, at least 10ish..

Then I did 1 Digital Noise Removal @ 100%

Then I did a load of Automatic Sat Enhancement.... (Less Colour / Weak)..
(to get the light colours)

Then an other Digtal noise Removal @ 50%.

Then a Edge Preserve Smoothing @ 6 Pixels...

And that about it..

Oh and a frame thing...

Hi Ross,
Here's my attempt, the sky is a touch strange but with a small file there's a limit to what one can do.
method was
1 :duplicate layer reduce opacity to 0% so you can see what's happening on the bottom layer
2 ; use curves or levels on bottom layer to get the sky darker, or how you want it
3 ; activate dupe layer and bring opacity back to 100%
4 ; use black and white eye droppers and tweek the curve to get colour balance on the boat and foreground as you want.
5 ; fortunately the sky went blank so use magic wand with 1 pixel expansion to remove sky from dupe layer.
6 : flatten and crop as required, I've taken the top white area off the sky and that bath, what ever on the right to really concentrate on the boat.
result, on my monitors, a resonably realistic looking result; apart from the sky's blue which could probaly be corrected with some more work.

Again, sorry about the sky! That was all the detail I could get in it without totally underexposing the ground (pretty full card so was shooting in Jpeg).

Had a go, added grey grad to sky, converted to BW using chanels, a bit of grain and a bit of blur to add to the effect!!!!!!
