Hi all

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I'm currently printing from my Epson R200 and 90% of the time I'm happy with the output....

...BUT...

I am increasingly wanting to print on card with a weight of around 255gsm. Problem I have is that there's almost no way I can get my R200 to feed the card. I have to press print, then manually push an individual sheet of card into the printer as it "tries" to feed the sheet.

It can take up to about 40 attempts with EACH piece of card before I get the printer to feed the card and print the page without either just not grabbing the card / or feeding it straight through without printing :banghead:

Quite frankly I'm going nuts and just wasted 3-4hours trying to print 40 pages and so far have achieved 10..!!!

Think I need a new printer for this purpose alone (which is a shame cos I really like the quality of the prints from my Epson.). Seems daft that I can currently print directly onto a CD but can not print on card

Any ideas as to a suitable printer? Must be A4 at least (A3 would be better), thinking Epson or Canon for image quality. Been through the usual websites but none expressly tell ou what GSM they can handle

i use to have en epson 1290 which does A3 and is superb. i printed on lyson art paper which im not sure how thick it is but i would imagine is thick and it had no problems. The lyson ink system is superb in my opinion and their paper is too. i printed my associate panel on the 1290 and the judges commented on the print quality. you can buy them second hand i think - i would still use that now if i could - fantastic

Have a look at the HP9180, fantasic quality, ecconomical, and it'll take up to 5mm board so your card will be no problem.
