Hi From Southern Spain,
I gave up on film about two years ago and sold my beloved F5 and Mamiya RZ kit (Bwah! what lovely machines!)
I started out with the D100 and after a year got a D70, D70S and now the D2X.
I am so impressed with the D70s and D2x (superb) that I do not miss my old film cameras. (I hung on to my excellent F90X just incase I have a yacht interior to shoot and need the extra coverage from the Nikkor F2.8 14mm and 17-35mm F2.8 that I use for most of my interior work.)
Last time i used film for a rather tall entrance stairway I was less than impressed with the quality of scanned Provia (Minolta 5400dpi) compared with the tones and detail that I get uot of the Nikon.
This is a very useful site and if I can help anyone with probs or queries, please ask, as I'll ask you when I got them.
Cheers,
Brad

Welcome Brad :crigon_04

Enjoyed browsing your website. How come the grass always looks greener in someone else's patch, even when they have less water than we do ? :Dm

Welcome Brad.

Had a look at your website - nice.

Love the opening shot of the fountain.

How do you cope with such direct sunlight every day. I am sometimes glad of our dismal weather and overcast skies.

Hope you enjoy the forum

Hi to all,
Thanks for your kind comments, I know my website is pretty basic but surely if your photos are good enough then all the fancy flash gizmos aren't really neccessary.(So speaks someone who is totally useless at web design!).
I cope with all the sunshine much better now that I'm not using Velvia. that used to be a bitch, by the time I'd got detail in the white walls of the villa the skies went an aweful blue black especially when polarised, now I find the tonal range of the D2X allows me so much more range when shot in RAW.
I was photographing a guys new toy today and used the D70S and it coped really well with the highlights. He took me for a spin in this 220mph marvel and I almost felt guilty giving him a bill.(I said almost!).

Hi Dennis,
Thanks,
We do look like we'll have water restrictions this year, but Andalucia has had a semi-drought for the last three years so thank god we've got a private water deposit to deal with it.
This is a nice forum where people seem genuinely helpful, hope i can contribute.

Hi Dotty,
Thanks for the warm welcome, you also do some some great work, I only do a few weddings for expats or people coming out to "marry" in spain as my main thing is property these days,
cheers,
Brad

Hi Brad

Why is it we all want someones else's patch could it be because all we seem to have over here is rain ( at last )

Love the first shot of the bride, but could have been a little beeter if you had asked the bride to look back behind or down at the back of her dress

Also how did you get to photograph my new toy !!

Keep up the good work

Alan
