I asked this on another site and they told me how then I tried doing it the way they told me and I still din't get it. What I am trying to do is a mirror photo so like the person looks into the mirror and then you get both the reflection in the mirror and the person. I have seen this done in alot of senior photos will some one please show me a tutorial on how to do this!

it would help us if you could add a link to an internet page that has an example of what it is you want to achieve.
My guess is that a photograph of a frame (or a painting with a nice frame) can be used on the top layer. Erase out the middle of the frame, and erase outside the frame. You may also need two pictures of the person (one from behind, and one showing their face). or... if the person is at a 45 degree angle you could take a selection around their face/upper body, copy that into a new layer, then use the ctrl-t (free-transform tool), click on the left edge of the box surrounding the face and drag right across the face - this will produce a right to left reverse image of the face, then move that into a position where it will peek through the middle of the top layered frame. merge visible layers, make a new selection inside the frame, use the ctrl-u to alter the hue of the selection (you might want to make it cooler or warmer, desaturate slightly), and maybe add a little blur to that selection - just to ensure that the mirror image looks a little different. make a new layer on top, paint a couple of white streaks on the mirror, blur them, mess around with the layer blending modes to see if you can get a glass-like appearance to the mirror.
the above is only a guess - without seeing a similar image.

Do you want to know how to take the shot, or how to create it in Photoshop?
It's much, much easier if you can get the shot in camera

It really would help us if you could show us your own efforts, so that we might be able to work out what you are doing.
The shot you posted in the link is basically all about the angles. The mirror is obviously flat (ish) and the subject would be leaning over it slightly. The camera position is then critical to capture both the subject and her reflection.

hi naenae,
taken a look at that image link - to me it still looks manipulated.
the chin in the mirror image is resting on a different finger, the smile is fuller and the eyes are straight at the camera. It is a possibility that two separate portraits were mirrored, a selection made under the arm, and blurred beneath.
Take a look at the shoulder on the left, why is it missing from the mirror image? and the top of the head is showing perfectly, not sure if it would if we were looking at a real mirror from that angle.

what angle were you in relation to the mirror?
have you tried being further back, up a step-ladder, etc... using a zoom lens.

take a real close look at that blurred background - does it strike you as odd that none of it mirrors with the real background from the top "in focus" image?

mm i dont think there is any manipulation there at all, i think the things u pointed out are slightly angled differently in the non reflective shot cos were looking down on it.

I know it's not a portrait, but the still life I did of the flower a little while ago was done using this type of set up.
Laid the objects on a reflective surface (black granite table top in this case), and then added plenty of natural light and a reflector card to balance up a little.
Then I shot from a very low angle using the zoom to fill the frame as much as possible. (Oh and make sure there's no Polarising filter on your lens!!!! they kill reflections!!!)

lovley shot there mate, in fact stunning.
Rosa i assume ur wondering how to get all of the subject and subjects reflection in the shot, id say for that particular one u would need to pull back a bit and get a tad higher, alternatively using a wider angle lens to let u in as close as u are now but allowing more subject matter to show. is this what u mean

Yeah, I don't think there's much manip in the first example at all - it's just a question of angles of reflection. The subject's left shoulder isn't in the reflection simply because it's lower than the right and being obscured in the mirror by the arm. The eyes of the subject are looking at the reflection of the camera lens in the mirror, hence the mirror image eyes are straight at the camera and the real eyes are looking down.
In your camera phone shot, if the camera had been held higher, and looking down towrds the mirror, then more of you would have been seen in the reflection. If you had rested your chin on your hands, like the girl in the link you posted, you wouldn't need such a wide angle to get your whole face in the image.
