Hi all,
I'm very new to the forum but here's a bit about myself:
My interest in photography started whilst underwater. As my username suggests, I am a scuba diver and was a 'happy snapper' who got lucky a few times. having managed to get an article with my own images published, and paid for! So I invested in an underwater photography course and it just kind of went from there.
Whilst practising camera techniques whilst 'dry', I really enjoyed it. Friends and family started asking me to do their family portraits/parties and a few weddings and through word-of-mouth, I started charging for my services and am now launching into a part-time career.
With a two-year-old daughter, another child due in January and a full-time job, I don't get as much time as I would like behind the camera- but I do work nights so probably get more time than most.
I currently shoot with a Nikon D70s and SB-800 strobe for my 'dry' work, and an old Nikon F-801s, in an Ikelite housing with SB-105 strobe for the 'wet work'.
My lenses will take me through three zooms, from 18-300mm, and I have a 90mm, 1:1 macro and a 50mm prime lens too.
I would love to upgrade to one of the Nikon pro bodies, but cost is an issue, and when buying a camera, I also have to look into the cost of getting it underwater too! This time next year though, I hope to have a 2nd D70s body and a housing for it too.
That's my rambling done for now - I'm of fto pick out some shots to upload to the critics here - if I pluck up the courage!
Thanks for having me here
Matt
