View Full Version : Ripping MP3s from a DVD?

Hello,
I play a lot of Music DVDs on my computer - mainly for the music content rather than watching the film as such.
Does anyone know of any free(preferably!)ware that I can use to rip off a MP3 file(s) of a DVD so I can play it seperately?
It would free up my DVD recorder for other work and wouldn't stutter so much when I open large files in Photoshop.
I am sure there's an obvious solution
Cheers

Just download the latest version of Media Player from Microsoft. I've ripped loads of CD's for the kids to use in their MP3 players this way and it works a treat :)

Thanks Paul - a comprehensive guide indeed - I think discretion being the greater part of valour I'll leave having to install all that s/w (not trusting anything by a developer called "The Dark Avenger" on a business PC :-) )
Thanks for finding it - nice to know it's possible - if not straightforward
Cheers

Just realised that there is a very easy way to do it, if you have any programs that can RECORD/EDIT music.
Play your DVD and select audio source for recording and set the volume then record/Edit and save.
It's like playing on a DVD player and recording through the sound card, except you have the player on your PC.
Hope that makes sense.
