Hi all,

Just wanted to share a situation with you and hopefully get some of your opinions on it.

The other weekend, I took some photos of my cousins wedding ceremony and reception (not as the main photographer). I stood back at all times and used my 70-200mm lens. The family had asked me to bring my camera and get some shots and I was asked to take some shots of traditions as part of the wedding that the man photographer wasn't around for.

I uploaded a selection of these images on FB the other day. Today I received a voicemail and a FB message basically using threatening language and asking me to remove my photos. He claimed in his contract it says no one else can shoot and post the images. I obviously didn't see this contract or sign it.

I'm not sure what the problem is? Is he jealous of the attention my photos are getting? Lots of other people have posted images of the wedding, as everyone does...it's FB.

What do you think, have I done anything wrong? Shall I remove them? Is this something for him to take up with the family if he's unhappy?

Many thanks.

I'm currently playing with my Yongnuo 622N ttl triggers. The manual is a bit hard to understand. Unlike the canon system, the Nikon system doesn't use a camera menu to adjust the flashes as the Nikon CLS system works differently and expects you to use either the pop up flash on an on-camera master flash in the hotshoe. So to command using these radio triggers you have to just use button presses on the trigger which are confusing to decipher from the chinglish manual but with the help of Lighting rumours I think I worked it out and actually it's fairly straight forward. So far I can manually adjust the remote flash power setting using the trigger buttons.

But I can't seem to adjust the remote flash FEC value in ttl mode for some reason... the manual and lightingrumours website say that it works the same way as setting the manual power setting. ??????

I'm using the D7000 and the camera thinks it's in commander mode - I'm not sure if this is supposed happen?? I'm using a Sb800 as the remote, the transmitter is transmitting TTL information as the exposure is spot on all the time, but when I try to adjust the FEC using the radio trigger itself (which is supposed to work) it does nothing and the TTL exposure remains the same. Only works if I actually change the on camera Flash exposure compensation... and presumably this would apply to all groups of flashes - so something's not right here. I'm not ruling out that I've set it up wrongly as the manual isn't exactly easy to follow....and it looks like I'm an early adopter for the Nikon version as there's hardly any youtube videos out on it!! Unless it's because I only have one receiver unit so the trigger knows that.l and therefore there no need for the group settings and it allows the camera fec value?? It might be the camera though too. I might try with my D700 tomorrow.

It would work better if I had a CLS master to put on the transmitter trigger on camera as the trigger can intercept the CLS optical signals and turn them into radio signals for off cam flashes, unfortunately my SB800 isnt' compatible with this though, only the newer Nikon CLS commander flashes are (and presumably Yongnuo's new commander flash) as this would make it easier to set the power settings of off cam flashes.

Any way -first impressions - has potential but I've yet to work the system out fully!!

The job involves taking photos and processing them. My idea is to put my cv on a relevant photograph but my wife and I are really stuck and can't think if this is naff or not.

Normally, cv's should be on white paper but we're wondering if by using a photo and a few text layers it shows a little artistic talent [cough] as well as proof that I can use photoshop.

So - would you be put off? Colour or black and white with no photo. We are really 50/50 on this but what would a potential employer think?

my kit is thus

a canon 60D
canon 18-135 STM lens
YN 468 flashgun

spare battery, couple of filters, giottos blower, lens brush, memory cards and a few other small knickknacks( business cards etc ) and the key item along with it a Benro tripod ( when folded its around 18-20 inches very small but very solid )

so after having owned a lowepro slingback ( which i hated and found uncomfortable ) and a generic canvas bag for my Fuji ( which was great but nowhere to put tripod) im now without bag and looking at a lowly budget that will accommodate the above for a princely sum of maximum £30. asking a lot i know and add to that would much prefer backpack style than shoulder bag.. obviously lowpro is outa the range even second hand ones are hard to find at that price other than compact and bridge camera ones. so any other brands people could reccomend ( or even have for sale at the price mentioned ) would be great to hear thoughts on.

Very upset. Does anyone know what Nikon repairs and costs are like? Failing that I may have to go down home insurance route.

Just found out on fb you can hire a limited range of Lee filters/ holder/rings. Including the Big stopper.

Prices seem reasonable, might be worth it if someone wants to try the Big stopper out before splashing the cash on one. :)

Here's the link to the Photorumors article http://photorumors.com/2013/06/16/ad...reative-cloud/ and the bit I like about it (and it seems correct at the moment) is the continued update of Photoshop CS6 for new file and ACR types; though the latter bit, I wouldn't like to guess if it would include system and software updates for potential bugs down the line where things like OS updates, hardware development, etc could cause an issue.

Any other suggestion? The more rigurous the better, I don't want anything like 'here is the table of F-Stops memorize it', I want to understand the underlying concepts!

I guess it's ok to post the titles of the books even if I havent reached 50 posts..
