Frames
How do you guys frame your images - i.e. the digital frames you upload here. I do like the way the frame enhances the images.
I use paintshop pro and there is an option to add frames, but there's not many customisable options. Do you just "make" your frames in PS? How do you decide what sort of frame suits the image?

Most of us just do it by increasing the canvas size with coloured backgrounds. A thin white border then a thicker black, or a thin black plus a thick white works well with most images. Keeping it simple is usually better than going over the top with fancy borders and ending up distracting the viewer from the main photo.
There are plug-ins and actions that some use, but I'll let them tell you about them. I think Chris Hawkins uses one such a plug-in for his.

Same as Ray using Image/Canvas and increase the size for white, black or mix. Occasionally I try to pick a colour to suit the image but I agree with Ray its best to keep it simple.
Someone was showing me how to do a rough border with one of the PS eraser tools last week using the eraser brushes. Ive not tried it myself yet tho

Which were based on a script someone else wrote.
If you fancy trying them, download the version on second attachment post in that thread.
