    Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8 D (Nifty Fifty)

Absolutely mint with original paperwork and packaging.

If you don't have one of these you should.

Sharp as a tack. Over a stop faster than an f2.8

    £75 + postage (cost)

    Is it a D or Non-D model?

I have the non-D, but FANTASTIC LENS... highly recommended.

    Thanks - I've just changed the title - it's the latest one - AF-D

LOL Jayne - yes putting all my efforts into plumbing (after an AF-S 1.4)

Does the "Distance" technology make a lot of difference to exposures etc? I.e. would swapping my non-D for D type be worth while when I get the D200?

I read on Ken Rockwells site that it doesn't do much - but he is rather opinionated!!

sorry to be thick but what is the difference between the D and non D model?
I'm presuming I could use this on my D40? (I know it won't auto focus but I'm saving up for a D90)
    thanks

As Carmen says - D provides distance information - which can help. Either way this is the current model.

    Ken Rockwell review is here:

Yes it works on just about every Nikon made - as you say it wont AF on the D40.
