The cheapest spyder you can get will work fine
Hi, sorry if this post is in the wrong place, but can anyone recommend a monitor calibration device. I've been looking around and there are lots out there and all at varying prices, Spyder seem to be good ones, but again different ones at different prices. Then there is Huey and Colour Monkey (very pricy). All I want is accurate colour representation but don't want to pay through the nose. Oh, and can a monitor be calibrated without one???
Many Thanks
Ross

The Spyders are quite popular, though I have a Lacie so not really familiar with them.
As to hardware calor not, to do the job properly you do really need the hardware.
These two web pages are not bad for a temporary fix though:

PS. Took the white out for you![]()

I would say the second option would be best for you.
Thanks for your info guys. I'll study those links Steve, thanks for those, they'll be handy till I invest in the hardware. Been looking on a popular auction site and the Spyder 2 or 3 don't seem to be too pricey (as long as it's not the Elite version).
Sorry about the text, i'm using the forums Dark theme and changed the text colour by mistake.![]()

Hi Ross,
the X-rite i1 is also worth looking at and is priced reasonably.
