    Question for Dave W

Hi Dave , very nice to meet you this morning and as you can guess I have been playing with the new toys .
All work just great . So many thanks for that .

I do have a couple of questions for you though .
First off can you identify the 2 items below and there useage . The pole affair seems to be a boom of some type but I cannot fathom out how it fits to the stands . I am probably missing the obvious with that one !
Pretty much the same question with the 3 armed thing . I would guess at some sort of holder for a reflector but never having used this type of kit before it is all new to me .
Lastly , there is a roll of what appears to be some type of diffuser material in a plastic bag . Am I correct on this at least !!

Honest thats the last of the questions . I will work the rest out myself

Hi Shane....yep...those in the photo are for holding a lastolite ( A TRADITIONAL ROUND ONE) and if I recall, dont they fit into the tripod stands instead of the lights ?.......I bought them years ago and never used them as I prefered Mrs W to hold them for me !!!..but I do think the fitting is the same as the ones for the lights.....the wee dongle for the lights drops out of the bottom of the light bracket...and its fits into the arm that you have in the photo above.........if you were using just one light then the other tripod etc would hold the lastolite....but like I say I got Viv to hold them for me....or anyone else who was around TBH..

the diffuser material is exactly that......and again it came with the kit but I never used it TBH....I guess it would go over the front of a softbox ????

    hope this helps.

hope the traffic wasnt too bad on your way home ?

nice to meet up, even tho we probably did look a bit dodgy doing deals at the side of the public way !! LoL

    good luck

Cheers dave , just what I wanted to hear . On investigation , yes the dongle drops out of the bottom of the lights so I can use them on a tripod if needed .
Going to have some fun playing with these I think .

Traffic was fine after I got past that broken down coach , police put a 40mph limit on both sides of the carriageway which was causing the problem. Glad I got there when I did , the Northbound carriageway was backed up about 4 miles going nowhere !

Lol, Dave... You'd not know whether you are coming or going around here then... At one point they had variable speed limits between here and town, then they changed parts of the motorway to 120kmh (about 75mph) from 100kph (62mph), then as an 'experiment', they dropped the road speed in the metro area to 90kph, and then all the motorways changed to 110kph, then they decided 'that didn't work' (aka, we've got some money in the coffers from fining folk), so they put the road speed back to normal, except in the metro area where they've now got it on tidal road speed between 80kph and 110kph, and now they've decided they are upping the road speed out here to 130kph.

It's crazy, as that was in the total of 18 months... Makes the UK road decisions look a little less crackpot (but keeps road sign manufacturers around here in business...)

nice one. And talking of dodgy deals, we used to make an environmental monitor, which only the Dutch bought. The boss regularly got the ferry to the Hook of Holland, drove out into car park, met the Dutch RIVM people, and did a 'shady' deal swapping over a large package

But once, the car got pulled in going back and they stripped it down looking for (I presume) drugs LOL
