    Altenatives to vinyl train?

I'm wondering if there's any alternative to the vinyl train for use with the Lastolite Hi-lite?

I currently only use a rubbishy white bed sheet which is a bit crap as it so easily gets creased?

I know Lastolite do a white vinyl train but I can't use this as it needs to be kept on the roll and I don't think the roll would fit in my car!!

I have a large chromakey backdrop which is made of heavy fabric which might be a better kind of fabric for the floor - so I was wondering if I could get something like that in white? It'd still crease but not as badly as the bed-sheet!!

    Any other suggestions?

Couldn't you use paper and turn it up at the bottom of the hi-lite? This would give you minimal pp on the bg......

Same problem with the paper as the train - it'd be on a roll to avoid creasing and I can't fit a 7ft roll in the car :-(

I need to transport it to places.

However I am wondering whether the vinyl could be stored rolled but then transported lightly folded if it's not for too long it shouldn't crease too much. By chance, looking at reviews on Wex I saw that StewCP from here has reviewed it so I've PM'ed him to see what he does (if he still uses it).

    Is your hi-lite 7ft wide?

It terms of transporting, roll it and put it in a tube and on a roof rack perhaps.......

Another option, if using vinyl, is perhaps folding it so that the creases will be in such a place that it's not under the subject, and so making it really easy to fix in pp.

No roof rack on my car and there's not going to be one either (I have a 3 dr Ibiza) ;-) If I was doing this regularly then I'd have to rethink the transport situation. Also If I order the vinyl it'll turn up at work on a 7ft+ long roll and I'll have to get it out and get it off the roll there to get it home..LOL!

Yeah - not sure about the vinyl - I'm kind of thinking that creases in the vinyl might be worse than creases in fabric - so I'm wondering about something like this:

Looks similar to my greenscreen type backdrop which is nice heavy muslin fabric and doesnt' crease so easily.

Carmen, lastolite do a stretchy backdrop material that works well... there may also be cheaper ebay similar stuff too. Use velcro to stretch and attach it to the hilite and use the light stands to hold it stretched at the other end.
I used to be a very negative person... but then I went digital!
