The variable 24-120 G was almost a kit lens for something, in terms of overall quality it wouldn't have been out of place on an entry level SLR from about ten years back! That 24-70 will blow it out of the water in terms of everything.

I have the newer constant F4 version of the lens which is a better overall lens than the old one...(and a useful travel lens I've taken some great shots in the states with it) but I was till considering buying the 24-70 a month or so ago (as I was doing a few weddings) and umming and ahhing over various ones on ebay that were nearly or more than the cost of this one...
..... so I'm afraid I've just taken the temptation away from you Doovid....

No I think it comes with a manual... the listing said "fully working".
I guess I'll wait and see ;-) If it's not I'm sending it back.

well i had the bargain of the century..i got my 24-70 for £350 i could not beleive it when the guy put it on e bay at a start of £450, i was cheeky enough to offer £350 and i went and picked it up, and ive been using it ever since
