    G'day Mike

Yes - a collection of brave & very competent AMERICAN born/ based female photographers.
I don't wish to pick at your post - but I do get tired of American sites that claim 'world' leaders who all happen to be Americans

I suppose they would use that term as well as "melting pot."

Hmmm. PhotoTraces.com is a Canadian site run by a guy name Viktor Elizarov who lives in Montreal. At no point in the overview does the author indicate that these famous female photographers were "world leaders" or that they are all American. Gerda Taro was German, Tina Modotti was Italian and the author of the piece, Federico Alegria, is from El Salvador.

Yes American "exceptionalism" is tiresome but they seem to have solved with their last presidential election and their latest gift to the world.
