Took advantage of the good weather and got out to Derbyshire for a walk from Edale, up over the tops, and down again. No tripod, so the water shots had the camera precariously balanced on my camera bag, and steadied by hand.
Overall, a beautiful day - but quite knackering!
C&C welcome, of course....

Nice set Pete, I like the shutter speed on the water shots not too fast not too slow and really impressive that you didn't have a tripod @1/2sec.

Thanks Ryan - I wasn't going to lug a tripod round on a hard walk like that!

Cheers Tony!

Thanks Mike - fair point...it did start to snow half way up the ascent!

Great set and all likeable as a favourite for different reasons. First is great for its processing - rather over sharpened for my tastes but sometimes it's good fun. Has to be said the sky is anything but over sharpened and I like the light dancing on the rocks. Second is a wonderful composition and the classic spot of red in a landscape clearly enhances the image.

All lovely images. The border framing is nice on these.
First one, I like the way the rocks Frame the sky. Nice texture, I too have tendency to overwork my skies. Nice Drama.
The FG is a bit distracting. Maybe crop a bit tighter to eliminate?
The second one is a nice capture, Hikers giving scale, Nice light. Lovely
Third one is nice, the fourth is my pick of this group. Beautiful scene, well captured.

Hi Pete. Are you using a different processing suite, a different style or a HDR effect?

Thanks Edward - I understand what you mean by the over sharpened bit. (see below)

Cheers Shawn - I will have a play with the foreground in the first to see what comes of it!

Hi Pete. Are you using a different processing suite, a different style or a HDR effect?
Morning Scott. I am using Lightroom/photoshop as usual, but trying out different techniques. A small group of us get together & issue photo challenges, and the first two were processed to reflect "texture" by hitting the texture slider quite hard. They were also taking into a bright sky, so I had to use two renderings of each photo (sky/foreground) and blend them to get something which was useable. I think that's what gives the weird lighting, akin to HDR (which I don't like!)

Thanks for the explanation. The first two certainly hit the texture brief but I find the processing a little weird and natural. Not the usual high standards or style we're use to from yourself hence my question.

Cheers Scott - I appreciate your comments and, as you might guess from my HDR observations, the processing is not really my thing, other than fulfilling a brief. However, I like to experiment, and sometimes get it right and sometimes get it wrong! I quite like the waterfalls though...

good set. I was thinking the same about the sharpening but they didn't seem to have the artefacts that come with that.
Not sure my olde worlde PS/LR has a texture slider!
