One from just before Xmas when the weather was proper and sunrise was at a sensible time. :) A lovely morning in Ellesmere. I posted another shot from that morning a while back - just getting into processing the others..

I like this one Jason. The light, the reflections, and compo are spot on.

Nicely done Jason, well handled exposure considering it's shot into the sun.

Lovely rich tones and like the format too. I'm really liking extreme letterbox crops at the moment.

    Fantastic image.

My only crit is the crop. Just a tad less wide would give it all a bit more room to breathe. Look at the bottom right corner and you'll see what I'm driving at.

I've been thinking about crops, ratios etc for a while, prompted by some comments from yourselves. I had every good intention of trying to stick to established ratios, I figured it would help if I wanted to print. It's all gone out of the window already. :)

Stephen; I couldn't leave more space at the bottom of the pic as there's was some brickwork there. I get where you're coming from though. I did think of cropping the whole of the boat on the right for that reason but liked the golden light in the window too much to lose it.

I know what you mean when a format doesn't quite fit so you add a little or take a little off one edge.
It does make good sense, it saves a lot of grief. Not so much at the printers, if they can't accommodate custom crops then find another printer. The grief comes if you're not doing custom frames and mounts, then it's a headache.
