Not sure if this is the right forum or not, but here goes.

A recent visit to an abandoned sheep station, (Credo Homestead) which is 70km North of Coolgardie and 556km from Perth, I discovered a graveyard of old and derelict motor vehicles, including this bus. A bit of research and it turns out these buses were used to transport men from the Goldfields of Western Australia to Kalgoorlie, where they enlisted for service in WW1.

Deposited @ Credo homestead in 1916 they have been slowly rusting ever since.

Regards

A bit drafty. It is amazing how things that are falling apart can make such good photography subjects.

Centurion.....you maybe interested to know my wife and I acted as short term non paid caretakers at Credo in the late eighties .The lease holder at the time were the Funstins, Tim and Megan. There was a scrap heap from which I dug up an old pump, which had an interesting origin ,it was made by an American firm who made canon for the American Civil War . The pump is now in my garden, see pic. I dug up a few old Lister parts as well.
I had a friend who had a mining lease at Davey Hurst , Pre digital days ,I did have some photo's of a large Crossly engine at the near by P1210014.JPG Orabanda Battery taken before the bikies blew it up.

Great shot. The bus color matches the landscape.
