Loads of butterflies round here at Pendine. Just released one of the red ones from the daughter's bedroom (emergency situation for her lol, she's only 30)
The pic is another one chilling on our patio door.
Just phone snaps cropped and resized on the phone so probably awful but interested in what they are. Guess the red ones are red admiral?

I'm no expert but the first is a Tortoiseshell and I think the second is possibly a speckled wood.

Red Admirals are mainly black with red bars on the wings like the rather tatty specimen below.

Ah thanks. I think we saw an actual red admiral today then, but it flew off seconds before I pressed the button to take a pic

AlfandBen is correct but to be picky it's a small tortoiseshell as I think the tortoiseshell is now extinct in this country.
