Wow, tough choice here, Paul. I really like both formats. Honestly I looked at the portrait first and thought that dropping the right hand rail into the bottom corner would work better and then when I got to the landscape format my thought was "nailed it".

Both great photos, but if I have to pick, it's the landscape. I feel like I'm able to move into the space of the photo, and the processing is better.

There’s not much in it but I prefer the landscape version. The portrait I think would be better with the bottom cropped to make the bridge start at the corner.
