I always see this huge earth works on my way through Burwell in Cambridgeshire and always thought sunrises would be nice from the top. This morning the holy trinity of a nice predawn sky, not being in a rush and actually having my camera and tripod with me occurred! The wind was a pain and was doing a number on my little tripod so I might have to go back with the beast but I got a few half decent (for me) shots.

Super sky colour, well worth getting up early. Was it that purple in the third?..:)

Thanks, we do get some nice skies in the mornings around here if one is up early enough.

It's torturous really, I'm up that early most days but rarely in a position to stop with the camera when I see these beautiful skies. As for the purple sky its really not far off, I didn't adjust the colour balance in post just raised shadows and dropped the blacks/ highlights a bit. I think the blue house makes it all seem more purple than it really is. I have since decided to change the houses colour to one I think works better. Someone might have awoken and put on the wood burner while I was editing too... ;)

Lovely shots. I’ve driven past it many times and always wondered what it looks like.

Super captures.
Brings back many memories of my youth. Done my Duke of Edinburgh award along there back about 64. Walked it again a couple of years ago on a butterfly hunt.
Lovely.

One of these days during the summer I'm going to do the whole length of the dyke or at least from the Burwell end all the way to Newmarket, I think its around 12 miles of Anglo Saxon earthworks. On a side note I saw a few hares and plenty of burrows in the sides of the dyke if anyone living nearby wondered where to find some.
You appear to have had a great morning. Beautiful set, Ryan.
Cheers Roger, t

he morning was great but it changed pretty quickly, this evening I had to pull over the rain was so heavy. Couldn't see the road let alone an edge and center.
Great set. Love the sky in the first two.
Thanks David, I do love it when the sky gets that colour.
Nice set Ryan, last shot for me ;)
Thanks Tony, going against the grain, I like it :D

Thanks Bill, was it all accessible when you last walked it and how were the butterflies? I'm always on the lookout for new insect spots.:)

Some cracking pictures, Ryan - love #2 most I think - uncluttered vision of the red sky.

Thanks Pete, I have been relooking at #2 and kinda feel the land portion of the landscape looks very flat as in detail and contrast not flat like the actual landscape. I have been having a rework to give the foreground a bit more depth and punch.

Here is it so far, whether I stay happy with it or not is yet to be decided. :)

Yeah I am going back over all of them now, its weird how a shot/s looks ok and then you come back to it later and see it in a completely different light.
Nice set! :ok:
Cheers Kayak! :)

I only really drive through but it looks like a nice place to live from what I see on my route, the 2 pubs I have been in are way better than the ones in our town anyway. :)
