Making my way through a few more photos I've not touched. These are from a trip to Centerparcs last year and there were a little family of chicks bedding down on the banking near our lodge. I spent an evening sat out on the banking a short distance away and they didn't seemed to mind me being there. I tried to get a decent view of them all huddling together with their mother watching over them from slightly behind but couldn't get it to work (without potentially disturbing them anyway).

This one was slightly earlier in the evening and on it's way back to it's mother.

Sharp and nicely exposed.
Pointers?
First two could use a little more room.
....don't be afraid (if possible) to lay down and get to their eye level.
Photography technically, you have it, just the comp n eye level.
Comp wise- give them room to the direction they are looking at.

Cheers. I had a bit of deliberation on the spacing for these - in particular the first one which I agree probably is a bit close.

The third one I didn't have a lot of space to begin with before a large distracting branch entered the frame on the right but have added a bit more breathing room. It's quite hard striking the balance between keeping the focus of the photo at the forefront without losing it with too much negative space.

The second one I am not sure. I wanted it quite close 'in the huddle' with the emphasis on one of them looking straight at me. Slightly wider crop here however I am not sure if it makes much difference; but I have probably been staring at it too long now to be objective.
