"Feels like -29 F"

Stuck in Toronto
Or spell tires, tyres?
All I know is F.
I only learned metric from starting school in 1973. Fahrenheit has a finer grain of scale, but Celsius makes such simple sense: water freezes at 0C and boils at 100C.

Rain maker
the trouble with sustained cold spells here is the modern homes are built so ****, I mean poorly, they can't sustain it. Our bungalow I think is plumbed with 10mm plastic pipe, certainly the radiators are. they seem to run outside the insulation as a few days of below zero and the damn things to the taps in bathroom freeze, even if I have the place like a sauna and let that heat into the attic as well. Useless.
