Why not? That photo probably would not have been taken otherwise considering how few of these tigers are left in the wild. Remote trigger photos have been accepted in this competition for years.

I agree. A great photo, but too many elements of luck vs skill to be a winner in my opinion. Maybe they should have a trail camera category.

I'm sure this was a very long and complex process taking many years to get this photo. Years of learning the tiger's behavior, territory and a lot of experience with remote camera traps. Congratulations to the winner!

Right, a very long and complex process consisting of many trips to check the camera, many cups of coffee while relaxing and waiting for the next walk to check the camera, etc.
