It is my pleasure to pick the image of the week this week, the last one before Christmas. OK it's been a slightly quieter week but to be honest there's been some very high quality images posted, especially in the last day or two which makes my choice really difficult. As I write this I'm still not entirely sure but there is one image that I do keep coming back to.

HOWEVER... I feel it's right to take the possibly slightly unusual step of reposting all of my final shortlist with a short explanation of what drew me to them as I feel they're all worthy of a mention...

so first...

Jenbenjen Pre-apocalyptic sunrise, I love the colours in this and the way the reflections in the water look :

Next, well Paulmag's mono of the hard drive caught my eye. I love the sharpness, the lighting is fantastic and the reflections of the wording on the disc, plus the tones are superb.

Then well.... Cannockwolf came back and gave me an extremely hard time. His waiting for god also made my shortlist. This is my sort of shot, great tones, great composition - just love it.

But the winner, because it stole my heart and my imagination wondering what the story is behind those sparkling eyes, is none other than Cannockwolf (again - first time ever two from the same person in my shortlist)

Well done all!!

If that Image had'n't won I'd have been tempted to put my backside in Burton's window for a week, it's fantastic ;) Well done to all.

gorgeous photo as ever. Seems to be a sea month. lol. in the last 6 weeks apart from a lovely bird and a sports shot, there all landscape with water. Be good to see some wondeful macro or interesting images out of the box as such. All images that have won have been breathtaking and amazing. Just the same topic really. :)

It was alot to take in, photos, mixed txt etc. nice to see something like that win, but the intro distracted from it alot. :)
