San Fransisco east bay region. Hills are unimpressive by any standard, no towering peaks, etc. Occasionally they do look good. Mission peak behind is about 3000 ft. Several major Silicon Valley highway arteries pass through this region.









Blaze it is not. This is glancing light filtering through the wild grass, major source of wildfire. July 4th fireworks is strictly prohibited here.

Nice to see Mission Peak. My first ever time to USA was a 12hr flight after a stupid o'clock alarm and trip to London airport, where I met my mate from Fremont. We had some burgers then it was up mission peak
And I still couldn't sleep very well that night after being up 30 hours.

That is a nice hike to the summit. It is pretty barren with not much shade along the way. Hard to do this when it is hot like it is now.

Summer these days are very hot. I find a big difference after an absence of five years. You may have heard in the news of wildfire threatening Mariposa giant sequoia grove, Yosemite NP.
