So I am an avid aeroplane spotter and have always used my default 18-105mm lens with my Nikon D3200, For long range pics at the airport though with distances in excess of 3km the digital cropping is not enough. I am trying to buy a lens but I am not really sure what to expect or how they perform, I normally shoot in broad daylight and don't care much about "bokeh". I also use autofocus for fast moving situations and the default Nikon 18-55 lenses seem really slow.

I have a very very tight budget of 150-200€ MAX and I am looking for used 300mm lenses.

Here are a couple I have found on a Spanish used item website that I can probably reduce the price on.

Thank you so much!

Sorry about the intrusive post haha, made a small post on there.
Am I allowed to upload pictures of the lenses or do I need to be a premium member?

Thanks mate!

Hi and Welcome to the forum.

I assume that you read the introductory email you got when you joined the forum? It pointed you in the direction of the rules of the forum if you did choose to read them which it seems you did not..

I bought a Tamron 200-400mm f5.6 LD of eBay for about £200. That might suit your needs. There's a few on there usually.

I tend to find that atmospheric effects are significant over that sort of distance most of the time.
As you have a Nikon body your options for adapting lenses are very limited, which could have helped with you budget constraints, manual focus will also help make things affordable if you can cope with that at long distances it's not too difficult.
Personally I try to avoid digital cropping of more than quite moderate amounts

If so you could consider a mirror lens, most of which are either T2 or another highly adaptable style. they are practically all fixed aperture & manual focus, but are considerably lighter than refractive lenses.
The Tamron SP500 is one of the better models which is usually under £100 even if you have to but a separate Nikon adaptal mount. I would expect it to be quite suitable for aircraft spotting, my cheaper mirror lens handled the jets fairly well at a recent airshow.
